Messaging and Communications:
Communications among the employees in your office is critical to the success of your practice.
Both of the AppMed billing and practice management programs (Symphony and Trio) contain an internal messaging system. This system is email-like in appearance but is completely self contained within the AppMed database. Therefore it is completely HIPAA compliant. It is not exposed to the eyes of others through the internet.
All staff members automatically have a messaging account where they can go to look for any new messages that were sent to them or create and send messages to be sent to any other employee.
A system administrator can monitor the messages for all employees so that any dialog within the office can easily be referenced. For example if a message is sent from Susan to Melissa regarding the fact that lab results have been received and that the patient should be contacted, the system administrator can make sure this action has been followed up.
